Seedtime student James Hutchinson will be presenting at the PoP Moves ‘Moving Forward’: Emerging Scholars Symposium at Kingston University on Tuesday 29 May 2012. This event is supported by the Society for Dance Research and explores popular dance and music, an emerging area in academia with which LSC naturally aligns itself through its performance practice. James will be presenting a paper entitled ‘Postmodernity or the Digital Age: Religion and Hypersexuality in the work of Madonna and Lady Gaga’. LSC tutors are very excited about James’s achievement in securing this opportunity to present his work to peers, postgraduates and academics working in the field of popular dance and wish him the best of luck. LSC lecturer Laura Robinson will present a paper at the event as well, about ‘Urban Cyborgs: the Mechanisation and Transcendence of the Televised Street Dance Crew’. If you would like to support James and Laura at the symposium, please email
