CORE SUBJECTS - Classical Ballet

Classical Ballet It was always the contention of the Studio's founder, Bridget Espinosa, that the demands of a classical training, at any level, create in the student a sense of discipline, physical and aesthetic awareness of 'placement' and 'line'. This is absolutely essential to the provision of a sound foundation on which to build other dancing and non-dancing performance skills.

The Studio has a large number of ballet groups, each of which are supervised by its own highly qualified tutor, who will usually possess both academic and performing experience. When they join the course, new students are placed in the group most suited to their particular needs, and are subsequently encouraged to develop at their own pace under the careful guidance of their own particular course tutor, with due reference to the direction in which their individual talents will lead them, professionally.

Students wishing to specialise in classical ballet from Year 1 may pursue a route that replaces core singing and drama classes with classical ballet subjects.
